Fully hand forged iron strap hinges for doors up to about 21" wide. The HF-15 series hinges mount with a butt plate that can be either jamb or surface mounted as needed. The face mount side fastens with pyramid head (slotted screws). The jamb side has countersunk holes and fastens with big #10 flat head blackened screws (slotted). Both fasteners are included so you can decide upon install if needed.
What strap hinge length do you need? The ideal length for strap hinges is 2/3 of the width of the door, or more. Many old Connecticut houses have straps that go to within an inch of the other edge!
HF-15 hinges, and all hand forged iron, can quickly and easily be customized to suit your specific situation. A few examples include making straps longer or shorter, special finial ends, and special wrap around hinges that allow the straps to be on the outside and the door to open in. If your door is quite heavy (more than 100lbs), consider using pintle hinges, as the pin size will be larger and the strap material will be thicker.
