Stand in front of the cabinet door. If the hinges are on the right, choose a right handed lock. If the hinges are on the left, choose a left handed lock.

The lock I needed had to be small, function smoothly and be easy to mortise. This fit the bill perfectly. It is un-noticed as it should be. The period key is a little large for the desk but is in keeping with the period.

I have an antique English book cabinet with doors that lock. The one lock was broken and I have been having difficulty finding a replacement. This lock was the closet I could find. With a few slight modifications to the door I was able to install the door lock and now am able to securely lock the cabinet.
Needless to say working with Orion on my repair was very, very helpful. Thank your support and fine products.
