This is my project during my junior year at Springfield High School. I made it out African Ribbon Mahogany and applied a Deft semi-gloss lacquer finish. This year I was fortunate to have time to build two projects to match this piece - a 5-drawer chest of drawers and a 4-drawer nightstand. The handles from Horton and the flaming Ribbon grain on the drawer fronts make each project shine!
re: Tony Regan from Springfield High SchoolI really like the design of this piece. I also think that ribbon mahogany is spectacular, the ribbon is set off nicely by the finishing technique you used. Is there any stain or is this what the wood looks like? Are those pull outs just under the top? What do you call this? Is it for sewing, or is it the height to have next to a chair? or is it for video or music storage?
