Thaddeus Stevens is a 2 year technical training school (post high school) founded by Thaddeus Stevens. Born poor and disabled in Vermont, Thaddeus Stevens eventually became a legislator in Pennsylvania. He was largely responsible for creating free public education in Pennsylvania at a time when no state provided free schooling(in 1833). Thaddeus Stevens has 16 technical programs, one of which is an outstanding 2 year program in Cabinet Making and Wood Technology.

Most of the graduates have started their own woodworking businesses. In addition to the full-time program, they will begin offering short courses led by some of our adjunct instructors and professionals in the Charleston area.
