Join us June 27-29 as the Society proudly presents its second annual mid-year conference, Joinery in the 21st Century, at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA. This year, experts will lecture and demonstrate in the college's labs the intricacies of joinery as it applies to tables, chairs and case-pieces. Short demonstrations on topics such as breadboard ends, wood movement and dovetailing will complement the main lectures.

   A barbecue on Friday and a banquet on Saturday will allow us to mingle and catch up on the year's events. Continuing last year's tradition, members are encouraged to bring and display their work in the Member's Gallery. If your piece can't make the trip, we ask that you bring photos and slides for a presentation Saturday night.

   This year we've added two limited seating bus tours to area attractions. On Friday, June 27th we'll leave Steven's campus bound for the Philadelphia Museum of Art to enjoy a guided tour of its outstanding collection of American furniture and decorative arts. We'll depart Lancaster around 8:00 AM and return for the beginning of the conference.

   On Monday, June 30, we'll travel to the mecca of period furniture, Winterthur Museum and Gardens in Wilmington, Delaware. Participants will enjoy a guided tour through parts of the collection and have extra time to enjoy the public galleries and grounds. We'll return to the college by 4:00.
