Vermont Furniture Works produces a wide range of furniture. About half of their orders are custom made or modified from existing patterns and stock items. They make everything from tables and chairs to case pieces and beds and even what I call smalls: shelves, cutting boards, and wood kitchen accessories. Glen Huey is a remarkable individual and an incredibly busy person. He writes. His new book is titled Fine Furniture for a Lifetime. He also is a contributing editor for Popular Woodworking, where he writes wonderful articles that leave nothing unsaid. His articles have complete plans, provide cut-lists and very detailed information about each project can be downloaded at the Popular Woodworking website. Few authors are as thorough as Glen. Glen and his dad Malcolm build wonderful furniture. Glen learned from his dad and today they enjoy working together.
Malcolm especially enjoys the 18th and 19th century pieces and while Glen began with Shaker styling, he has absorbed his dad's love of the 18th and 19th centuries as well. The pieces they create have outstanding form and balance. They blend the best of many styles and two centuries together to make beauty. We are proud that they often us our drawer pulls for their furniture.
The Mary Hoyt wedding chest is a rather renowned piece. It is known for its lovely form and balance, and the scalloped top adds an elegant signature to the entire piece. Mary Hoyt's father gave the original to her on her wedding day in the mid 1700's. Greg Brunk gave his reproduction to his son and daughter in law on the occasion of their wedding in October. The love he put into this piece shines through. Could there be a more delightful present? Hardware used: C-602L in the Bright finish and LK-1 half mortise locks.
Martin's Chair produces a wide range of chairs and furniture. They welcome custom furniture, and even are skilled with large contracts, such as desks and chairs for some prestigious colleges and universities. Orion took this photo in the showroom of their shop New Holland, Pennsylvania. While we are not professional photographers, it came out pretty well and shows their eye for design and skill with paint accents.

LeFort Furniture specializes in hand crafting the finest late 18th century high style furniture he can find. Each piece is carved by hand, and these carvings are magnificent. Dave uses traditional techniques, all dovetails are cut by hand, and every piece of wood is carefully matched. This lowboy embodies his style beautifully. He chose our CH-8 drawer pulls in antique brass, one of my personal favorites among Chippendales.
Sustainability. We choose our packing materials with the planet in mind. We use popcorn and newspaper. The popcorn, made from cornstarch, is a harmless alternative to Styrofoam. It is completely biodegradable and dissolves in water. The newspaper we use represents the ultimate recycling. Our employees bring it in and we reuse it!
Terry is a native of Tennessee and has worked for us for several years. He makes our long strap hinges, H & HL's, slide bolts, and rattail hinges in addition to doing all of the custom fabrication.
