Stirrup Pulls

Stirrup pulls were an elegant method of opening a cabinet door. Each stirrup is a casting and quite delicate in appearance, yet durable and sturdy. Pictured in antique brass.

Glen Huey builds fine furniture and writes about it for Popular Woodworking. In the December, 2006 issue, he uses both the H-40 turn and the H-40 with a machine screw fitting (MSF) on his Lingerie Chest.
Stirrup pulls come in a variety of sizes and with various fittings. The H-40 with a turn will latch a door and operates by rotating the stirrup. The smallest one is supplied with a pointed wood screw for places where you have no access to the back of the wood (pull-outs, usually) and with a more modern machine screw. The middle size H-83 fastens in a very authentic way, with a threaded post.
