Description
George Hepplewhite, an 18th century furniture designer, is credited with bringing back a neoclassical style to his pieces through his drawings. Our selection of pulls reflects his attention to detail with numerous patterns and images while maintaining his love of clean lines and delicate curves in their shapes. We think you’ll agree with him when he states, “To unite elegance and utility, and blend the useful with the agreeable, has never been considered a difficult but an honourable task.”
A similar version of this Hepplewhite thistle pull can be seen gracing the front of a serpentine-front sideboard, c. 1780, on pg. 219 of Sack’s Fine Points of Furniture.
