  • Let us be clear about this: Our casters are true period reproductions. They will not work well on office chairs. Period casters are primarily used for three reasons: to raise the height of a chair or table top; to replace missing casters, or for the their decorative beauty. While they are strong-steel pins and flanges with cast brass cups-they will not roll easily on carpet and they can mark wood floors. Two centuries ago casters made it easier to move a piece of furniture for cleaning, and they still do-but you cannot roll around on them all day long.
  • All hardware includes all fasteners needed for installation. You can order extra fasteners if required.
  • Hardware is available in several different finishes. 70% of our products are ordered in the antique finish.

Pin style casters for tables and chairs. All of these casters have a press fit shank. This shank should be inserted into a 1/4" hole, and the knurled shank on the CA-2 and the deep wood screw style threads on the CA-4's will grip the hole as the wood expands and contracts.

CA-4 has a tapered 1" press fit pin for secure anchoring and flange has 3 screws for mounting.

Pin Style Casters

These little casters are perfect for my project...nicely tooled and handsome enough to be exposed. I am using them on the "feet" (legs about 4-5 inches tall) of a tuffet. They look great on the first completed one, so I have ordered another set for the second one.
