An old favorite returns. The iron chest lifts are back after a 2 year hiatus and are better than ever. We finally got a foundry who cast malleable iron. Why does this matter? Malleable iron doesn't break. The bails are cast. Casting leaves air bubbles in the metal-this is the nature of the process. The key is that you can cast with either gray or malleable iron. Gray is less expensive and fine for most applications. But it is brittle and it breaks. We finally found someone who casts malleable iron for a reasonable price-so the chest lifts are back. No chest lift is intended to truly lift-they are made for use as a balance while lifting from the bottom. The CL-5L and CL-5s iron chest lifts are durable and and beautiful. There should never be a problem with normal use. Mounts with 4 screws, cast malleable iron bail.
Quality: the quality of your furniture matters, so should your hardware. We use solid brass because it lasts forever.
