Thaddeus Stevens is a
2 year technical training school (post high school) founded by Thaddeus Stevens. Born poor and disabled in Vermont, Thaddeus Stevens eventually became a legislator in Pennsylvania. He was largely responsible for creating free public education in Pennsylvania at a time when no state provided free schooling(in 1833). Thaddeus Stevens has 16 technical programs, one of which is an outstanding
2 year program in Cabinet Making and Wood Technology.
Charleston, SC
Offer a full time 10-month Professional Course for students that want to pursue a career in woodworking. They are accredited by the SC Department of Higher Education and accept GI Bills and Vocational Rehabilitation Veterans. Covering everything from hand cut dovetails to gilding and french polishing. Most of the graduates have started their own woodworking businesses. In addition to the full-time program, they will begin offering short courses led by some of our adjunct instructors and professionals in the Charleston area.
