Description

These escutcheons appear on a walnut high chest of drawers most likely made in
Maryland c. 1760-1780. While the characteristics of Maryland
Chippendale furniture are not yet fully recognized, there are enough
similarities to make the placement highly likely. It can be seen at
Winterthur.

Thomas Chippendale, an English cabinet maker, circa 1700s, was one of a handful of artisans and craftsmen whose legacy continues to be popular today. Our Chippendale pulls reflect the incorporation of Rococo, Gothic and Chinese influences that were influential during his time. With over 100 styles to choose from, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
