Description
The HF-2 6″ Ball & Spear Iron Grip: Architectural Scale and Hand-Forged Substance
The HF-2 6″ Ball & Spear Iron Grip is the heavy-duty centerpiece of our architectural iron collection. Part of the signature Horton’s Forge line, this 6-inch pull is designed for larger applications that require a formal, “dignified and staid” aesthetic. The “Ball & Spear” finial represents the more refined side of early American blacksmithing, offering a structured, professional look that was once a staple of the colonies’ most prestigious homes.
Fully handmade in the USA, each grip is wrought one at a time using a coal fire, hammer, and anvil. Unlike common cast-iron hardware, our hand-forged iron is less porous and significantly more durable, providing a tactile sense of permanence. At 6 inches, this handle provides a generous handhold, making it the ideal choice for oversized kitchen drawers, heavy pantry doors, or custom furniture pieces in a variety of settings—from colonial restorations to modern “Industrial Chic” lofts.
