The success of a drop leaf table depends entirely on the precision of the rule joint. Our 2-7/8″ Solid Brass Drop Leaf Table Hinges are specifically engineered for 3/4″ thick material, providing the structural integrity and mechanical accuracy required for a seamless, “no-bind” swing.  

While mass-produced stamped hinges often flex and cause leaves to sag, our hinges are precision-machined from solid brass extrusions. This results in a heavy-duty hinge that maintains a perfectly flush surface when the table is open and a tight, graceful reveal when the leaf is dropped.  

The Anatomy of a Master Craftsman’s Hinge:

• Precision Rule Joint Geometry: Designed with unequal leaves to accommodate the traditional rule joint. The longer leaf spans the deepest part of the cove, ensuring the pivot point is exactly where it needs to be for 3/4″ stock.

• Machined from Solid Brass: Extruded brass offers superior density and strength compared to cast or stamped alternatives. It won’t stretch or wear out, even with daily use on heavy dining tables.  

• Smooth-as-Silk Operation: Our tight machining tolerances eliminate the “slop” and wiggling found in inferior hardware, giving your furniture a high-end, custom feel.  

• Discrete Under-Mounting: These hinges are countersunk on the barrel side for installation on the underside of the table, remaining hidden while providing maximum mechanical leverage.
