Ged Kennett produces brass, bronze, and stainless steel finishes. He also creates handmade textures that are applied to the surfaces of the finishes. Below you will find helpful information on the types of finishes and textures.
All brass finishes are 'living finishes' designed to polish and patinate with age and use. All fittings are handmade, with variations in color, texture, and dimension to be considered as part of their character.
Gloss Stainless Steel (GSS)
Made from Stainless Steel with a gloss finish.

Semi-Gloss Stainless Steel (SGS)
Made from Stainless Steel with a semi-gloss finish.

Matt Stainless Steel (MSS)
Made from Stainless Steel with a matt finish.
This is a stainless steel finish.
Polished Unlacquered Brass (PBUL)
The warmth of brass, polished to a smooth satin perfection, and supplied unlacquered to allow the development of patina from natural oxidation.

Waxed Satin Brass (WSB)
This is a solid brass finish with a waxed, or satin, appearance.
This is a living finish that will age over time.
Antique Brass (AB)
A warm, brown antique brass style finish, much like our house Antique Brass but with a little more golden hue showing through. A mix between our Antique and Light antique finishes.

Natural Brass (NB)
It is what it is: a natural, solid brass finish. No additional changes.

Bronze Patinated Brass (BRZ)
A simple solid bronze style.

Forged Texture (FG)
This is Forged style texture that is applied over a selected finish to achieve a desired effect.

All Ged's handles made from brass have finishes which allow them to react to their environment. Their color and polish (patina) will change with time and use; this is what we call Living Finishes. Handles that receive heavy use will polish back to their underlying metal, while those that receive little use will generally darken over time. The images below illustrate what a pictured piece of hardware looks like following 6 months of typical use. The used handles are displayed on the left of each pair.
