Campaign style corners and brackets are laser cut from .032” thick stock. Pieces are then expertly bent, welded, countersunk, and finished here in our shop. We also have T shapes and smaller sizes suitable for ¾” wood.
Campaign hardware should be British - they developed the style in the late 18th century to travel with their military around the world. The original pieces were simple and sturdy. They were designed to be carried by sea ship, camel, elephant, and horse, and still arrive intact. Campaign hardware was developed to suit the life of the furniture, and subsequently, the life of an English officer.
The campaign drawer pulls and ring pulls all mount flush with the material by mortising them in. Using campaign hardware will ensure that nothing protrudes and nothing will catch in transit. The campaign style corners, L brackets, and the like are also typically mortised in and serve to protect the edges and help keep the piece from any damage.
