Inset escutcheons are fitted into a keyhole and line it with brass. Generally used alone, an inset escutcheon provides the simplest approach to cleaning up the jagged wood edges of a keyhole.

These are great replacements for the cedar Victorian document boxes. I'm an avid collector of antique boxes, and the key inserts are often missing. They are hard to find in salvage shops in Australia, so I'm thoroughly pleased with discovering Horton's lovely brass wares.

Nice piece, adds a great little detail to a keyhole. Fair price and solidly made. A little slip with dimension details would have been nice for drilling/install though.

This was not exactly what the photo showed on the website but it worked and matched well. The originals have two tabs that hold the insert in place. This one I had to modify the opening and drive it in to fit by friction. It looks and matches very well on my antique cabinet!

I have recently purchased key hole escutchons for a project I am soon to complete. They are a wonderful finishing touch to the key whole. They are slightly tapered so that they can be press fit and come in a variety of brass colors. I was able to match to handles and drawer pulls.
I also bought two different styles of locks for my project. They just a wonderful addition to project. Looks and functions wonderfully well.
