Purchased an old ,ca: 1850`s double lid grain bin which I restored. Hinges were mounted on the top and each mortised into the wood very carefully.Left hand lid had two original hand forged hinges. Right lid had two replacement very small hinges and one of them was broken'
Tried every local hardware and box store to try and get two hinges that would look right and fit the mortise cutout exactly.
No luck. Sent one of the originals to Horton Brasses as a last resort.Within a couple of days I had two new hinges that fit exactly the old mortise cut .
