Our hand forged iron latch sets are exact copies of early American originals. Available in three standard patterns, bean, heart, and ball and spear. Each is a complete latch set with a grip, thumber, bar, catch, and keeper. Pyramid head screws are included.
All hand forged iron is handmade in the USA with a hammer, anvil, and a coal fire. The black color comes from heat and oil. They are "the real thing".
Because our iron is handmade one a time, supply can be limited. We are also happy to take on all types of custom work, from exact copies of your antique originals to repairs.
Important
- Reverse Bevel: It is important to determine the type of latch set you
need when ordering. The bar and catch will change in accordance with
your requirements.
Stand
on the side of the door you plan to mount the grip (handle) on. If the
doors swings away from you, order an HF-14 or HF-17. If the door opens
towards you, then order the reverse bevel latch, or the HF-14RB or
HF-17RB.
