Sometimes, a drop-leaf table is just right and others, folding out the side leafs is necessary for sufficient surface area. No matter if you require the greater surface area for a project, dining, or another purpose, the hinges attaching the leaves to the rest of the table must be sturdy. Horton Brasses' drop-leaf hinges provide this strength. The classic appearance is further appropriate for reproduction and antique furniture. For replacing an existing hinge, finishing a project, or modifying reproduction furniture, opt for our sturdy drop-leaf table hinges, available in steel or brass and with a choice of five finishes.
Fine, extruded hinges, March 26, 2020 By Denny (Mt. Vernon)
These extruded, solid brass drop leaf hinges are expensive, but so is the table I'm building. The only other drop leaf hinges to be found are made of stamped steel and are very loose and sloppy. Sloppy hinges require a larger gap in the rule joint to accommodate the movement of the sloppy hinges. These extruded hinges are very precise so I can fit the top and its leaves together as close as a rule joint should be. I am happy to find these at Horton.

It's good to know quality brass hinges still exist! Thanks
