These drawer locks are English; made by the Squire family. They have been making locks for more than 300 years.
The external case is solid brass. The internal mechanism is cased in a steel box, just as the old ones were. The operate smoothly and reliably. Each lock is supplied with solid brass screws and one decorative key as shown. Optional strike plates and extra keys are available for all locks and are shown below.
LK-1, 2, and 3 are single lever locks with pressed brass cases. LK-4 and 5 are two lever locks with extruded brass cases. The extruded cases are thicker and the lock movements are more precise. The extruded locks also have deep pins and are better suited for use with our Chippendale pulls and escutcheons.
Careful with these locks, August 23, 2023 By Anonymous (San Francisco, CA)(Verified)
These are great little locks, but make sure your mortise allows a little play as the bolt retraction mechanism is quite weak. If the bolt jams in the mortise as mine did you'll have to saw it off through the reveal to replace the lock, an expensive and nerve wracking project.

Excellent Quality, and appearance, May 28, 2018 By Anonymous (ROUND LAKE, IL)
This was my first experience with installing a half-mortise lock (or any lock for that matter). The LK-1 lock was excellent Quality, looks great, and functions very smoothly. It is immediately apparent that this is a solid lock, not some cheap look-alike.
Following the instructions on the Horton website, it was relatively painless to mortise the lock body, and the receiving plate.
I would definitely purchase this lock, or any other lock from Horton Brasses. Their customer service is excellent, and they are very patient with newbies :)
