This style of bed hardware has been used on wooden beds for several centuries.
Practical and attractive, Horton Brasses bed hardware alludes to the Federal period of early American history. Hand-crafted dies and stamps replicate original elaborate bolt covers, while other hardware, such as bolts, wrenches, and irons, attractively hold components in place. All bed hardware is constructed by hand in Horton Brasses' Cromwell factory. As some parts are custom designed, check first with your bed installation blueprints before placing an order.

This is one of those tools that solves one challenge that doesn't repeat itself frequently. Therefore, it's not made or stocked by many hardware suppliers. I use it for tightening the bed bolts on two antique bed frames and for building and maintaining a reproduction of a cherry Shaker-style, pencil post bed. Nothing works as well.
