Bed bolt covers hide the holes where the bed bolts enter the bed posts, and do so in a beautiful way. Beds need tightening periodically, and the cover can be swung up and the bolt exposed for tightening.
Authentic reproductions, our Bed Bolt Covers are exact copies of early American originals dating back to just after the revolutionary war. The designs are uniquely American, and were common during the Federal period. Today, Horton Brasses is one of only two companies still hand making traditional bed hardware in the USA. Our reproductions are stamped from very intricate dies and punches hand-made by our founder, Frank Horton, in the 1920's and 30's.
The H-23, H-33, and H-120 bed bolt covers are made from heavier stock. All three are very early patterns and were originally cast. Each is available in antique brass, light antique dark antique (oil rubbed bronze), semi-bright brass, and polished brass. I ordered a tiger maple bed, and the store owner recommended I shop here for the bolt covers. I had them on my old bed, and feel that it really finishes off the look. These covers are beautifully made, and look gorgeous on my bed. Another plus-I ordered the least expensive shipping option late one evening, and received them in two days. I can’t imagine anyone not being pleased with this purchase.

I used the bed bolt covers for a cherry and Granite kitchen table I just completed, (using Horton Brasses 6" bed bolts and satin nickel bed bolt covers, for the corner joints). A little unusual to use bed bolts for a kitchen table, but it needed to be very strong to support the weight of the 250 pound granite top, and the bed bolts, along with stub tenons on the table apron and mortised legs, did the trick! The satin nickel finish on the bed bolt covers complement the same finish detail on our kitchen cabinet hinges and handles, helping to tie the room together. Terrific service as always from Horton Brasses!

Someone removed the round locks in two doors in my Victorian home before I bought it. These left holes in both sides of each door. The locksmith said he could not install new locks in those spots. What to do? I bought four bed bolt covers and they were perfect! They are HEAVY brass and look antique. They shipped quickly. Thank you, Horton, you had just what I needed.
