Bed bolt covers hide the holes where the bed bolts enter the bed posts, and do so in a beautiful way. Beds need tightening periodically, and the covers can be swung up and exposed for tightening.
This bed bolt cover is an exact copy of an original dating to the American Federal period. It is, as they always have been, by stamping a very intricate pattern into very thin metal. Each one is a work of art.
Our BC-9 bed bolt cover is made of thin brass-if you are looking for something thicker we would suggest the H-33 or H-120.
My great grandfather, Frank A. Horton, was an extraordinary die-sinker. As a young man, he handcrafted dies and punches used to produce the finest silverware. Later in life, he turned his talents to producing furniture hardware.
He knew that the finest stamping's require artistry in steel. A detailed stamping uses a die carved from the tool steel. The die contains every detail of the stamping: from the largest leaf to the smallest kernel of wheat. For the very best stamping's, a punch must also be carved in steel with each detail reversed, and a few thousandths of an inch smaller to allow for the thickness of the metal. This process die-sinking requires weeks of painstakingly precise work. It is a trade that, unfortunately, nearly vanished. Frank Horton made all of our Federal period dies in the late 1920's and into the 1940's. We still use them today. We owe him our thanks.
High quality, well made (beautiful!) bed bolt covers, August 11, 2021 By Anonymous (Washington, DC)
The bed manufacturer recommended Horton as the best in the business for hardware and I couldn't agree more :)
Replacement for missing bolt hole cover on bed., February 8, 2021 By Anonymous (Charlotte, NC)
I bought an antique bed with large head and foot boards. One bolt hole was missing its cover. I was so pleased to find this replacement. It works perfectly and looks great.
These bolt covers were just what I needed to cover the holes in my bedpost after I removed the rail post. They were a close match to the others on the bed. I received the package in a timely manner and was very pleased.
Excellent value!, April 14, 2020 By Anonymous (Piscataway)(Verified)
Although the bolt covers are quite thin (the site made mention of this and of the fact that other, more substantial ones, are also also available), they are very well made and make a fine appearance. I was particularly pleased with the price (and they were offered with a 25% discount as well, as I recall) as I needed 14 of them for a loft bed. The company was so thoughtful as to include quite a number of extra screws (#4-3/8 so very easy to lose one or more). Had this been the first time I purchased from this company, I would have had absolutely no hesitation in recommending Horton Brasses to anyone. Any company who provides a product as well represented and as well executed as this is certainly not going to offer any inferior products. In fact, I have purchased from Horton before and I knew full well that, even at a discounted price, I was still going to receive a good quality product.

Bed Bolt Cover, February 7, 2018 By Ken Tatsuno (Orange, CT)
We were looking to cover two bed bolt covers at the sides of our wooden King Size headboard which were lost by our movers. Horton Brass bed bolt covers matched in color and were almost an exact match in size. Now the bed looks finished instead of having unsightly holes.

I could not be happier with these bed bolt covers. Perfect for my project and the client couldn't be happier. Another great experience with Horton Brasses!
Worth a litle extra, December 12, 2014 By Stuart Halloran (Richmond, VA)
The Horton bed bolt covers are actually made of real, quality metal. The mounting screws that are packed with them have real threads and they don't shear off when you're installing them in hardwood posts.
