I researched many many hinge manufacturers looking for the product I needed to build my first tool cabinet - I am an amateur woodworker. When I build something I want it to look special. I want it to look classy. A few years back I harvested some Ash from my property. I finally got around to building a finger jointed cabinet. It's 34 inches wide by 42 inches high 10.5 inches deep. The side cabinets which I needed the hinges for are 7 inches deep. I am using four polished brass PB 410's to hang the the side cabinets. When I ordered the PB 409's I thought I wanted I forgot to specify bright brass and received antique brass instead. When I called the company I talked with Amy. Even and though it was my error I asked her for the bright brass and told her that the PB 409's were to small and she recommended the 10's and shipped them at no extra charge that very day. Wow, wow, wow! I have since returned the PB 409's and I am a happy camper. I will recommend this company to the world they were great. I am in the process of mortising the cabinets to accept the hinges as we speak. Thank you Amy.

Nice to be able to find quality solid brass hinges. Also the fact that they come with the proper screws and the zinc screws to make the pilot holes is sure a plus in a world where some vendors sell hinges without screws, who doesn’t need the proper screws? These hinges are tight and look great and I expect they will last a long time. When you spend a lot of time and effort on a project the last thing you want to do is cheap out on the hardware.

I had question about the PB-409 butt hinges and received a reply within a half hour. My package came to me well packaged and fast, only 4 days to Alaska. I bought these hinges for a Shaker End-field cabinet that I made and they where perfect. There tight, consistent in thickness and they give you plenty of screw for fitting. I highly recommend them.

I'm sure a lot goes into shipping out products and keeping the price low. I do want to comment that the ship time on these hinges is pathetic considering the price.
That said, I'll trust that the hinges are as good as the people recommend them said they are. They seem to better than others I've seen; but it's always hard to justify the price of a high end item.
TL;DR: Horton- bring down the price or ship your item fast!
Note from Horton Brasses-this order was placed on a Friday night and US Mail was selected as the shipping option. We packed the order Monday, but it was Columbus day and there was no mail so the order left on Tuesday.
